Vegas Baby!
06 May 2008, 11:32 PM
Pictures
from the trip to Las Vegas with my brother and Don. Darn, if I
didn't see the most amazing things in my life over there. There's
just not enough space to describe anything here. Take a look at
some pictures,
but you have to go to know what it's all about...

Trip to Greece
03 Apr 2008, 02:49 PM
I'm
back from Greece. I went there for two weeks, ended up staying for
three, went to climb some peaks, climbed everything but those
peaks, went to relax, ended up getting sick and doing more than I
do in the US. Bottom line: it was a lot of fun and I'd do it again
in an instant. Details in the Cybertures blog here.

Geocaching at Finger Lakes
11 Feb 2008, 12:04 PM
Went
out geocaching with Ed and Demos at Finger Lakes. What was supposed
to be a short walk, took 5 hours and 8 miles in very rough terrain
without water until it got dark. We got all scratched up and no
cache. I had the wrong coordinates on the GPS.

We went out with Demos the next day and walked straight into the cache.

A walk at Twin Lakes
04 Feb 2008, 08:22 PM
It
was 72 degrees today. What a great change from the freezing weather
we’ve had lately. The lakes were still half frozen, though. I
took some pictures of a bird having lunch and geese walking on
ice. Enjoy...

How to gain about a stop of camera stability
23 Jan 2008, 01:23 PM
This
is a cheap (actually free) trick to make your camera more stable
without using a tripod. I have found that I gain about a stop of
IS. The actual IS of my Canon lenses does not seem to be confused.
Your mileage may vary, but it may be worth a try. Watch the short
video recorded especially for members of dpreview
here.

Learning to see 2008!
22 Jan 2008, 06:29 PM
Chris
Marquardt from the tips from the top
floor is
hosting a series of workshops in the USA for 2008. Check the
workshops out. If you can't make it, get on that podcast anyway, if
you're interested in photography. He already has more than 250
podcasts out and the tips from the top floor has won several
podcasting awards. They get nominated every year as well.
I may be there, if I can afford it!

Rocky Fork Hike
06 Jan 2008, 12:40 AM
This
was a short hike to Rocky Fork State Park outside Columbia, MO.
There are a lot of long ponds and lakes in the park, known as
Finger Lakes. It was a beautiful 50F degree day, after the late
snowstorms. The last ice was slowly mudding the soft ground.
